Papa’s Place is located along Highway 331 in Brantley, AL. They offer fresh local grown selection of fruits and vegetables. They also have fresh baked pies and cakes, ice cream, and pecan candies.

Crenshaw County Farmers Market

The market begins the first Monday in June and runs through mid-August. Hours are 3-6PM every Monday. It is located at the Emmett C. Strickland Pavilion on Airport Road in Luverne. You can find various produce and other items including baked goods, honey, fresh cut flowers, and handmade walking sticks.

Old Gin Creek is a country store along Highway 331 in Brantley, AL. They offer gasoline, clean restrooms, breakfast and lunch options, t-shirts, outdoor supplies, and more.

Edward L. Turner Jr. Park and Turner Walking Trail

The park has seven fields used for baseball, softball, and T-ball. It also has a playground, walking trail, batting cages, pickleball/tennis courts, and basketball courts.

The Crenshaw County Lake is a 52-acre fishing lake located between Luverne and Brantley. It is a great place to fish, boat, take pictures, picnic, hosts workshops, and much more.

Crenshaw County Historical Society Museum

The Crenshaw County Historical Society discovers, collects, and preserves information and facts for Crenshaw County and surrounding areas. It is located on Airport Road in Luverne.

Confederate Veterans Memorial Park

Confederate Veterans Memorial Park is a monument to honor unknown Confederate soldiers from Alabama. It is located just north of Brantley.

Crenshaw County Veterans Memorial

The Crenshaw County Memorial consists of an engraved slab centered among eight flagpoles and an M1 57mm antitank gun. It is located at Memorial Curve in Luverne.

Preston’s Steak and Grill

Preston’s is owned by Robbie and Samantha Richburg. Preston’s got their name from Robbie’s dad, Preston Richburg who was the face of Circle S in Goshen. They serve steak, seafood, drinks, and much more.

Norma Helen’s Deli is located downtown Luverne. It was named after two women, Norma Hendrix and Helen VanLieu. They offer a variety of sandwiches named after streets in Luverne along with daily specials.

World’s Largest Peanut Boil

The Peanut Boil which began in 1970 is held every Labor Day Weekend in the City of Luverne. Tons of peanuts are boiled and bagged by the Crenshaw County Alcazar Shrine Club and volunteers.

July 4th Fireworks

The fireworks show is held at Turner Park in Luverne each year near the fourth of July by the City of Luverne. Others such as the Crenshaw County Commission and Town of Brantley contribute to make sure the event continues to take place each year.

Festival at the Well

The Festival at the Well is a festival held in Downtown Glenwood around a flowing well. The event is always held on the third Saturday in May and includes a parade, arts, crafts, food, live entertainment, a street dance, car show, and much more.

Christmas Parade

Around the first of December is the Crenshaw County Chamber of Commerce Annual Christmas Parade in Luverne. Companies, groups, and churches come together to create floats for the night parade. You can also see antique vehicles, fire trucks, horses, bikers, and more. In addition to the entertainment factor, entrants in the parade all donate a toy or toys to the Crenshaw County Department of Human Resources (DHR) to support Operation Santa Claus, which every year provides Christmas packages to 450-500 children.
